Twill weave is the most common carbon fiber pattern, using continuous woven fibers in a 2x2 diagonal pattern. The carbon fiber composite itself is dimensionally stable and unaffected by moisture, temperature, or normal UV exposure — it will last indefinitely (20+ years). The limiting factor in lifespan is the clear coat, which protects the carbon fiber from UV damage.
